Masters in Education: Higher Education Teaching and Learning

We've moved permanently!

The Higher Education Training and Development Unit which was part of the University Teaching and Learning Portfolio has been reconfigured and effective January 1, 2018, its staff has been integrated in the School of Education in the Cluster of Education and Development Studies.

Entrance into the Masters programme requires an honours level or equivalent qualification.

This programme consists of 6 modules each worth 16 credits (or 160 notional study hours)

There are 4 core modules:

Research Discourses and Methodology (16 C)
Research Proposal Development (16 C)
Discourses in Higher Education (16 C)
African Higher Education in a Global Context (16 C)

and two electives from the following options:

Pedagogies in Higher Education (16 C)
Curriculum Development and Evaluation in Higher Education (16 C)
Student Development and Learning: theories and practices (16 C)
A module from another discipline agreed on with the head of discipline and school (16 C)
