The Higher Education Training and Development Unit which was part of the University Teaching and Learning Portfolio has been reconfigured and effective January 1, 2018, its staff has been integrated in the School of Education in the Cluster of Education and Development Studies.

This 16 credit module introduces participants to the range of assessment possibilities, the effects of assessment on learning and provides insights into how to design different assessment processes.

Content will cover topics such as:

Purposes of assessment
Assessment designs
Critiques of assessment forms
Influences of assessment on learning
