The Higher Education Training and Development Unit which was part of the University Teaching and Learning Portfolio has been reconfigured and effective January 1, 2018, its staff has been integrated in the School of Education in the Cluster of Education and Development Studies.

This elective 16 credit module aims to enhance and theorise diverse practices in teaching and learning.

The module content comprises theories of learning and the practical implementation of diverse practices to enhance teaching and facilitate students’ learning. Taking cognisance of the pedagogical needs of diverse disciplines, large and small group strategies, individual and collaborative methods, contact and mixed methods, class-based and off-campus learning are included.
